Gyotaku started about 100 years ago in Japan as a way for sports fishermen to record the exact size and species of the fish they caught. Today, sports fishermen in Japan often display gyotaku as wall decorations in their homes, or they keep them as a sort of journal to document their success in the sport. How is this similiar to American fishermen/hunters? Today you made a Gyotaku. What type of fish did you use and what are some facts about your fish?

MAKING FISH PRINT WAS SO COOL! Mine was a skate and they lay eggs in an egg case and they are found in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indeain oceans. They also live at the bottom surface of the ocean. SKATES ARE SO COOL!
